ECUMENISM IN PARISH LIFE

Descriptors are some of the common ways in which Ecumenism is evident in a parish setting. Place a check mark in the box of those descriptors that are currently happening in your parish in the area of Ecumenism.

1. Our parish collaborates with neighboring churches / congregations as appropriate to

enhance the mission of the Church.

2. Our parish promotes ecumenical relationships and activities.

3. Our parish collaborates with those of other Christian faiths when appropriate in meeting

the needs of the poor, handicapped, disadvantaged, etc.

4. Our parish gathers and prays with other Christians for the needs of the local community

and the world.

5. An effort is made by our parish to foster greater understanding among the other

churches within our parish boundary or parish community.

6. Our parishioners are given opportunities to be formed in an understanding of

ecumenism.

7. Parish activities model, through word and deed, ecumenical practice.

8. Opportunities for collaborative ecumenical activity in the local area are sought out.
